Vanity This word must have its roots in the word “vain”:   that perishes, that stops existing, that passes away.   Contrary to the eternal:   that remains, that never ends up being, that doesn´t pass away.   Vain is the adjective and vanity the noun. The purpose of this article is to establish what makes the difference between something vain and something eternal.   ¿What is it that casuses some to count certain things as vanities, and others as eternal pleasures, a piece of eternity? Let´s analyze it. A little boy is enjoying his ice-cream and suddenly starts yelling:   “Put it down, that´s mine!”   The pleasure of the ice-cream was   completely ruined by the anger his little brother caused him by touching his car.
